Seat belt retractor

I have a 2004 Santara Grand with Flex steal driver and pasenger seats. The seat belt retractor for the pasenger seat isn't working It is fulley extended and won't return. The lable on the belt says it is a GM product. I looked the seat over and it appears to be quite a job to get to the retractor. Anyone have any in-sight to this problem. Thanks Rich

Can you pull any slack out of retractor you may have a fold in belt. You could try to use a dinner knife to work the fold out to stop binding.

reach in there and release the cam/grabber thingie (technical term)

I keep that cover open now it happens so much.

Seat belt

In Persute We probably have the same seats as I have a Coachmen Santara. I am not sure what cover you are talking about. There is a plastic cover on the seat where the belt enters the backrest and I have removed it. I can se the retractor but that is about the extent of it. No room to do anything. The belt is fully extended and can't se any wrinkels.

This link indicates many have problems with seat belts. Not one I could find with a good fix but was mentioned seat belts have lifetime warranty by MFG because a safety item.

FlexSteel is the key to it (I think)

I sent you to the wrong end last evening.

**On the end where the belt is attached** it will have a "door" of sorts at the bottom which will hinge open and allow you to reach in and trip the catch thing.
