Service facility in Los Angeles area
Just bought a 1999 Rexhall Aerbus. Before taking it out I'd like to have it checked out. Anyone have any positive or negative reviews on Always On Time Auto and RV Repair in Saugus, CA. If not, anyone able to recommend a reputable service facilities in the greater Los Angeles area. I'm primarily concerned with chassis stuff. The house stuff is in pretty good shape. Everything works.
Thanks

If it is a diesel, then I suggest Colton Truck Terminal in Colton.

I would avoid Always On Time. He will charge you $250 for an airfilter you can buy for $67. Always On Time never fixes anything, they just want top dollar to replace it, even if it is a $5 part and an hour of labor, and a new one is $100 and 2 hours, they will tell you what you have is junk, no one fixes them, or he can't get parts that everyone else has no problem finding.
I drive over to Big T's in Oxnard for drivetrain, they will service it on Saturday, they have never overcharged, and they do good work. I try and do most of my RV related work myself, but on the off chance I can't do it myself I take it out to the guy on Sierra Highway. He charges a few more dollars an hour than everyone else in town, but he has always fixed it right the first time, and if he tells you to bring it on on Tuesday and it will be done on Thursday, it will be done on Thursday. he also has a lot of parts for older rigs on hand.

Don, mine is a gasser.
U_S, does Big T work on gassers? If so, I'll keep that in mind for future reference. I've been to the guy on Sierra Hwy. Wasn't happy with his prices. They seem to change on a daily basis. Never had any work done. Just got a few things for a new Trailer we purchased a few years back.

I would without question go to Redlands Truck and RV. They are held in high regard in the RV world. I personally have used their shop and can vouch for their abilities and integrity.

I don't think Big T's works on gassers, but Redlands Truck Center is on the other side of San Bernadina which is a few hours drive. I would call down to Neal's RV in the Valley and see who they use. I have had good luck locating shops through them even though I bought my rig in Arizona and not from them. The place on Sierra is Mobile Home and RV Repair, Dave is the owner, and the only person I deal with. He is old school and a friendly chat will get you what you need.
For tires I have found Benny's in Castaic to be just as competitive as the tire shops in the Valley. I would imagine there has to be s decent shop for gassers around here, there are probably 10 gassers for every 1 DP, so hopefully someone who has one will chime in with a good shop. You may want to look at RV Service Reviews

I would try Coast RV in Agoura Hills they have always treated me fair, Big T's charged me 90.00 to check my tire pressure after a 850.00 plus LOF and Trans service. I will admit it was my mistake the service guy called to inform my coach was ready and the tires looked low, and would I like my air pressure checked, I said yes and he did not quote a price. Just a big shock when I got the Bill.

I wonder why so much? I just had them do my Cat C7, DOT Inspection, LOF, both fuel filters and tranny service since it is 7 years old, and it was $792. The DOT Inspection will get you the tire pressure checked, suspension, brakes, and tires.
I may use Wm L Morris Chev in Fillmore for my tranny service next time, they are certified via GM for Allison, and 1 of 2 GM certified Light and Medium Duty truck shop in SoCal. They might work on gassers.

For chassis work like front end alignments, front wheel bearings packed, shocks, etc, then Rite-Way Axle & Suspension on San Fernando Rd. in Sun Valley are the best. For tires, Parkhouse Tire on Sheldon Street not far from Rite-Way are the real deal. For brakes, Jerry's Brake on 10118 San Fernando Rd. in Pacoima. All pretty much in the same general area.
Good luck!

Richard, thanks for the referrals. I just had the rear brakes done. Rotors and pads. I've ordered bushings for the rear track bar and will have them installed next week. Depending on how it handles, I'll check with Rite-Way on the suspension stuff and Parkhouse Tire if I replace the front.
I see you're the park host at Deukmejian Wilderness Park. My wife and I have hiked in the area. Didn't know they had hosts. Is there RV parking other than for you?
