Well, I am starting to investigate the wonderful world of Class A diesel units. I currently have a Ford F350 with the diesel engine. Based on the power of the unit I do want a diesel Class A.
And some questions come to mind.
Pusher or mid?
Do you change your own oil? If not, why not?
What about fuel filters?
I want to take my ATV's and maybe my motorcycle. I have 14 Ft. ATV trailer. I know many pull toads. And most that I have seen are on the ground. Why not a trailer with rear ramps?

Chet, If you're halfway mechanically inclined, servicing a diesel shouldn't be a big thing. It's just that things are bigger and you'll need a couple of 5 gallon pails if you need to do a 28 quart oil change. Filters are no big deal either. Again, they're just bigger.

You can tow a trailer behind a class A pusher if that's what you want or else you may want to look at the Gulfstream EnduraMax super duty class C on the Kodiak chassis. It's a big toy hauler with a large liftgate/ramp in the back and the GM Duramax diesel up front.

I see a lot of Class A's pulling trailers - it's all a matter of what you want. Heck, I met one guy who had a big air conditioned trailer and he had his pets in there as well as his BMW Z3 and his toys.

The drawback to a trailer is finding a place to park it; the advantage is you can carry more toys.

The only experience I have is with a dp and I'm very happy with it. I do my own service and never knew that they could put that many grease fittings on a coach. LArge bucket for the oil works well and NAPA gold filters are made by Wix.
The reason most flat tow is to avoid trying to find a spot for a trailer or dolly at a park. Fellow next to us at Myrtle Beach last fall had a car carrier hooked up and the combo took the entire site. Didn't mind though as he had a real neat 53 Chevy traditional hotrod as his wheels.

Thanks for the replies and encouragement. I have a couple of years to log in prior to retiring full time. I am "half-way" there. I retired form Xerox after 33 years and moved to "where I want to be". So I have no illusions about a $250K Class A unless the Power Ball comes to Utah!

Then again I am only 180 miles north of Vegas!

I have been looking a many many sites for used pushers and have found some incredible units for sale at extremely affordable prices! I mean we are talking Bluebirds, Monacos, Allegros, Foretravel, and many other high end brands for under $50K! Granted they are used but they are alos in super condition with an average of 60k on the drive train. And for a diesel that is just break-in milage.
So I will continue to use my Lance and monitor this forum and when needed I will just in and get some more info.

Gary,
The owner that you met with A/Ced trailer, was he from Las Vegas? I met a gentleman from LV this summer in Oregon who was outfitted as you describe. His coach was a Prevost converted by Liberty. I believe that he owns a Harley dealership in LV.
