We have a 2004 Southwind 32ft. The sewer connection in the compartment does not line up with the hole cut out in the bottom of the compartment. We have tried a few different adapters, but all put a strain on the hose. Do any other Southwind owners have this problem? If so, any solutions? My husband wants to "move" the hole. He's a ex sheetmetal worker, so I have faith, but I would like to find a simpler solution.

Just twist the sewer connection until it lines up...it's made to move.

Thanks, J. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for our coach. There is a Y connecting the black and gray water coming down into one pipe to connect the sewer hose to. The "idiot" that put it on did not line up the Y. To redo it, means cutting the pipes and doing a reconnect. We would rather move the grommet hole in the bottom of the bay to align, if we have to. Just thought we might find someone who had the same problem that found another solution.

Before you cut, go to a marine store such as West Marine or go online and buy a port or screw out fitting the size you think you need that goes in the floor of boats for access. Then it will look like it came that way.

This Y or T connection is made to turn to line up with the hole.

loosen the four bolts to each flange and just adj the way you want it

My 2005 Southwind 37 footer had the same problem. The flange could not be moved as it was as far back as it would go. The local repair shop cut both pipes and moved them out about 1 inch. It fixed my problem.

Thanks to everyone who wrote in. My husband cut and moved the hole over several inches. Then he took the portion he cut and bound it to the original hole using some sort of metal mastic glue. It looks good, and should work fine. He says he can sand it and paint it to look like the original (if he ever feels the need to!!).
