Sewer Hose connection

Are there any tips or tricks to connect in the couplers to the four-inch sewer hose? The old one was wrapped with duct tape and now I have a yes you guessed it (Every pun in tended)..crappy mess on my hands. Thanks for your help.

Valterra Viper Sewer hose here. I buy a new one every 2 years and keep the old one as a spare. Does that cost extra money? Yup, but don't like poo on my hands.
Heard good things about Camco Rhino.

I tried the HD Rhino hose and didn't care for it because it didn't collapse and store easily.. HOWEVER I've used the standard Rhino hose for several years now... I like the fact that it caps and seals before storage... I like the clear elbow at the connection to the RV to see clear water when I flush the black tank...

Mine must be 5 or 6 years old and functions well.... with the ability to collapse and store, I have 2 of them in a tote with the other stuff I carry....

I have the Polychute...11 years old now. The newer generation is the Waste Master- excellent sewer hose and should last a very long time. Not cheap but I feel it's worth it.
