Shades - possible upgrade - Day/Night?
Currently, we have 'Venetian' shades which are somewhat of a PIA to operate, rattle, and are starting to look a little dowdy.
One option I see for replacement is the Day/Night shade, specifically from MCD. Any thoughts on these? Do you use the 'Day' portion of these much? We usually like the view through the windows during the day and are not sure we would use this option much. Will it significantly cut down on heat from direct sun, if deployed? Unless it is very windy, we always deploy our awnings.
The 'accordion' style shades we looked at (Lowes) appeared rather flimsy and cheaply made.
Your thoughts will be much appreciated.

We went with Magna Shade. It will keep the heat out better since it stops it before it comes into the coach. During the day you can still see out of it (it's like looking thru sunglasses) and others can't see inside. At night you will need to close your curtain to keep others from seeing inside. It's very easy to put on and take off since it works with magnets.

Thanks, Dave. Just went to the Magne website. Looks like that would be a good solution for front, driver, and passenger windows. Still have to use and inside shade for night, I guess.
I should have been more specific in my OP - we are looking to replace the interior cabin shades (over sofa, dining table, etc).

We converted all our old string type window shades to AutoMotion manual day night shades, except the windshield which is electric. They are going on three years old and have worked as advertised. We love them especially the windshield shade...getting rid of the curtain set up was money well spent. Our windows have a very dark tint so we don’t need to use the day shade all the time...usually early morning when the sun is low. The windshield day shade is down almost 24/7 when parked, we haven’t felt the need for an exterior shade to augment it. One other benefit of the electric windshield shade it the ease of adjusting it while driving. What ever brand you go with it’s a great upgrade.

We replaced our shades with MCD day night shades in 2008. Those on the side windows are manual. We put powered on the windshield. Our side windows are tinted dark enough we really probably didn't need the day shades. But we do use them a good bit of the time to cut some light, and to cut heat during the daytime.

We replaced the front curtain and cockpit side shades with MCD day/night shades. Powered on the windshield manual on the sides.
So far we have been happy with them and use both the day and night frequently. Looking at replacing all the other shades later this year with the same MCD.

Thanks, JaminSamin. I went to the Automotion website. Am I correct that you can't buy these directly, that you have to go to one of the distributors listed?

Had MCD shades until a couple of them broke and received zero help from MCD. No parts available, just buy new shades was their solution. Ripped them out and installed Automotion shades which are much more robust.

We've had MCD duo shades since 2010. Powered for windshield, manual everywhere else. No problems. I with the exception of the cockpit, the day shades are down all the time. Cockpit gets day shades down when parked.
