Should I sell my old Atwood Level legs as parts myself, or...?
Hello all,
I am new to the forum and this is my first post/request for advice. Forgive me if this has already been talked about before, but I couldn't find anything on this topic.
Background:
I purchased my first RV- an ’06 Pace Arrow 38L- from a friend 7 months ago (I’m the third owner). He dumped thousands of dollars in trying to get the Atwood Level Legs to work properly and for a time, they did work. Now that it’s in my possession, they’re not working again. Instead of going down the same expensive path of trying to fix it, I figured I would just replace the entire system with BigFoot Levelers.
Where I need advice:
I spoke to the owner of BigFoot Leveling here in Florida a couple months ago, and he quoted me around $8k for the whole system (We don’t have the time or the place to do the install ourselves). When I asked him what he would do with my old Atwood Level Legs, he said they fix em up and sell them as parts (no credit to my new system). I asked him if he could just give them back to me so I could sell them myself, he said he would but discouraged me from doing so.
So, what would you recommend I do? I know that Atwood parts are hard to find and I would have to flip them as-is since I have little knowledge of the system (again, first RV).
Extra notes:
The last owner dropped a ton of money into fixing up and upgrades on this RV. It only has 25k miles on it. My husband and I plan on doing a couple more upgrades to it then living in it full time, semi-stationary. Right now, it sits under covered storage, and we haven’t taken it out to camp in yet (lack of time).
I appreciate ANY advice.

I had my Tiffin QDH 40 Atwood jacks removed and the Bigfoots installed by them at their shop in Michigan. I kept the old jacks and sold them on eBay. The problem is shipping them, they have to go freight. There are many people looking for them.
I can give you the persons name who bought mine if you’d be interested.

Thank you for reminding me about shipping. Is your buyer looking to buy more Atwood parts? If you don't mind my asking, what did you sell yours for? I don't know what a good asking price is for them individually or altogether.

If you don't mind the trouble of selling them & packing them for shipment & hearing buyers tell you the shipping cost is to high, I would keep them & sell them.

Or they don't work and the buyer wants what they paid and shipping back.
The only thing you know about them is they don't work. You'll probably be selling them to a person who knows exactly the same thing about their system.
If you could demonstrate them working they'd have value. As they don't sell them very cheap AS IS with no refund of the purchase price or shipping.
Or scrap them, you'd probably be ahead by the time you got everything packaged to ship.

Actually, when they remove them at the factory in Michigan, I had them put them on a pallet and ship them to a gentleman in Arizona, he paid the shipping. I can’t remember exactly how much but I think it was around $700. then I sold him the touchpad and the controller for $250. If you like I could PM his info. I guess it would matter the correct part number for the jacks also, if I recall the front were rated at 7500 pounds and the rear were 10,000 pounds each.

Thank you everyone for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I will reach out to someone that Bimmer recommended and if that falls through, I'll post them on the interwebs and see what hits I get.
