Shower pan sealant

We have a Class C, but many of the showers are similar so I’ll post here. I noticed that where the shower walls overlap the lip on the shower pan now is loose. There is no type of silicon or caulking whatsoever. I’m trying to research that to see if that is intentional by design, or if it was just overlooked. Any feedback would be appreciated. I think I would prefer to run a bead of some type of sealant along there, but I’m not sure I should. Thanks all.

It is intentional by the factory.
Sorry but we don't recall the reasoning but hopefully someone will come along with the answer.
