Sileather?

The surfaces of the exist chairs have started peeling off. We find a local re-upholstery shop that offering Sileather as an alternative for vinyl and leather. Since it is the 1st I have even heard about it, has anyone have experience on Sileather? Durability?

I've never used it, but it has a reputation as being the best available for boats and outdoor furniture. It's c0ompletely water proof, and has a soft feel.

The stuff that is peeling isn't real leather either. My personal favorite is Ultraleather, a top-line product, but there are many brands (and many level of quality & price).

Here's a discussion of some of the better products.

Yes. The shop owner seem to really promoting the Sileather. It feels smoother but thinner than the vinyl… and more expensive. I don’t know if they have ultra leather or not. Hard to get hold of them.

This is a vendor site, but not a bad description of the options and their advantages and disadvantages.

Thanks! I believe I have seen that one. It says the silicone is most expensive. However, the sileather the shop offers are only slight more expensive than their vinyl. It got think it is either cost has gone down over years or it is a cheap knock out…
