Slide/awning, Lippert control panel performance issue
I have a 2017 Forest River Forester class C motorhome that is exhibiting a general performance problem with the control of the slides and awning on the vehicle. The issue is generic in nature in that it is the same for all three devices. It occurs whether I am on shore power or battery power, whether the batteries are fully charged or not, regardless of the ambient temperature, etc.
Specifically, anytime an attempt to control any one of these three devices is made, the response to a push on the control panel 'button' is a momentary pulse of the system drive motor(s), followed by minor movement, and then nothing.
This behavior began occurring approximately three years ago, and has been consistently occurring since. The only way I have found to get around this frustrating, time consuming on-board process is to use the command capability provided through the OneControl Wi-Fi app.
In particular I can control any one of these three items through the app, and they function perfectly, regardless of power supply, regardless of temperature, regardless of any variable!
So the question is why does the app work but the onboard system doesn't? There must be a shared, common element in the on-board control system somewhere that has an issue, but which the Wi-Fi command system does not require in order for any of the three systems to function properly. I'm at a loss for understanding what or where that might be. If anyone has any ideas regarding where I should begin looking, please let me know! I'd be glad to hear them. Thank you in advance.
