Slide seal how should it work
Some time ago I ran into a guy that had some type of gizmo (2 attached to each side) of a slide, that flipped the seal out as the slide was opened, and flipped it back in as it was closed. His feeling was that the seal (side opposite of attached side) needed to fit tight on the slide and the only was to do that was with these flipped gizmo things. Hopefully this makes sense. Ex..one side of seal is attached, the other rides on the slide as it opens and closes.
Question is how to do this? Thoughts?

My slide seal's face out when slide is opened, and face in when slide is closed......they fallow the slide operation, that is how they are suppose to work......

I used a thin length of aluminum flat bar, countersunk the screw holes, caulked the screws, and they've been doing there job........some have used plastic to do the same thing.........mine only needed this for the wardrobe slide.......these are only flipping the wiper seal, main seals don't flip

I knew mine were not working right...that is the slide I have an issue with. My concern is putting screws on the side of a slide. Can you tell me about where you placed the rod and how big of a screw.

Used number 6x3/4 stainless sheet metal screw with a little caulking on threads, screwed them on .....only 1/8" thick, so no weight to speak of, and could be painted so they blend in...

Soft rag or small paint brush and Baby powder on seal's,inside and out .......clean seal surfaces, wax sides....
And it might be the seals are hard and can't flex to reverse themselves ......

The aluminum is anodized, so if left bare, it at least has some weather protection

I use HD silicone spray on our slide seals. I also walk around and flip the rubber seals with my hand while the wife is extending the slides. I thought about adding some kind of seal wipe to flip the seals, but manual seal flipping gives me a reason to monitor the slide movement just by being there.

If you don't mind the look you can apply a few bathroom tub safety strips .... the non-slip surface pulls the seal in the right direction as the slide moves. And, they are waterproof.

I installed an RF controller on my slides so that I can be outside pushing the button and watching the action
