Slides Closing By Themselves

We have a 2007 Monaco Camelot (new to us) and have had two episodes of various slides activating and closing in...and no one was near the switch.

The first time it took us awhile to find the fuses to reset before we could get things back to rights.

Since then, we got a surge guard on the power line (our park has had some issues with wiring and it seemed prudent to protect our investment). Last night, heard some clicking from the general vicinity of the inverter and checked the remote panel...looked like there was some variation between 25-50 amps during the clicking events. Also noted some 12v lights flickering during the clicking. (Please understand I am a great nurse but electricity stuff is a challenge for me!)

Then today, the slide spontaneously started closing again. Ron checked and one of the fuses had popped and he reset it. No problems since.

Has anyone had similar issues? Any cause determined or solutions? We are newbies and appreciate any and all wisdom. Many thanks.

You may want to use the search function for more info as there has been many members who have encountered this problem.

The blame seems to go to loose wires or RF ( radio frequencies ) triggering the switch. The quick fix seems to be to pull the fuse.

I am sure you'll get a lot more replies on the subject and better solutions from other members here shortly

Since you have an intermittent problem, it will be difficult to trouble shoot. What I would recommend is that you, or someone comfortable with electrical wiring, start at the source of the 120 vac supply and ensure all connections are clean and tight; all the way up to and through the distribution panel and inverter. Then start at the battery banks and do the same to all the loads. This will take some time but I think you may find some loose connections that will be the cause and fixing them may correct the problem. Good luck and keep us posted.
