Was 86 degrees with 80% humidity earlier today in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Low tonight is 75 with some potentially heavy rains coming in tomorrow. The rain will help keep it cool, but it's still miserably humid. Might be an indoor day tomorrow.

In places with low (or no) humidity, it is not unusual to have high diurnal temperature variations. The reason is that moisture in air can heat up and hold heat but dry air does not heat up. My coach's weather station shows low single digit humidity right now. It is easy to feel by standing in the sun and then walking around a corner in the shade and noticing a difference in the temperature. In the high desert around the four corners, 50 degree diurnal temperature variations are not all that uncommon during much of the year.
As for the comment about going down to the valley, no thanks, I can't take being down there more than a couple days at a time...

Wouldn't it be easier and more accurate to look at Weather.com for this answer?
