Squeaky pedestal table

Minor issue but curious if theres an easy answer to address. We’ve got a simple pedestal table that inserts in to a round metal base thats attached to the floor. Its part of our dinette. Driving down the road, it squeaks and pops. Aside from pulling it up altogether, has anyone with this issue tried anything to quiet it down such as coating the bottom of the pole with wax or anything?

I would try simple electrical tape, as many wraps as it takes to fit snug and take up any movement.

We did the electrical tape and so far it quieted down. If it starts back up Ill try the grease route. Fingers crossed so far.
