Squeeky floor in Class-B
When tracking down a leak in my Class-B, I needed to remove the carpeting and subfloor in the rear section. Easy task, but I have a question.
There was a squeaking in the floor when you would walk on it in certain places, and I’d like to get rid of that when I replace everything. The subfloor is just a piece of 1/2 or 3/4 plywood which was screwed to the van’s metal floor, and the carpet was installed over that.
I’m thinking there is some underlayment that I could use between the metal van floor and the sub-floor to quiet the squeaking. But I don’t want to cause any moisture retention problems leading to rust.
Any ideas on the best way or materials to use to accomplish this?
