Step motor gone bad
I purchased a new motor from Amazon for $40.00 bucks. Took me and the wife about 2 hours to change it out. All seems good! Now I can take my rope off of the stool we used to get in and out.

Welcome to the forum:
Model and yr of the rv would be helpful for folks having the same issue.
The part number of the motor would be especially helpful.

If you click on the name you’ll see the the year make and model of the RV. I think that’s why that feature exists. As far a a part number, every step motor I’ve seen is a window motor for a 90’s f150. Doesn’t matter which side. Also make sure the linkage is well lubricated, and a splash guard will help keep everything cleaner.

Thanks, I am aware how to research the OP's information but am encouraging them to post it. Not everyone wants to take the time to take a few extra steps. No pun intended.

The make/model of the RV is immaterial and has nothing to do with make/model of the electric steps.

IF the make and model is a 2008 Endeavor I would have known the type of steps. Just an example.
So the information is very useful.

Based on the OP post it seems he was just announcing success, not asking a question.

I just got our MH from storage and the steps stopped working as I shut the door. So I chained them up and drove home. I replaced the motor 3 1/2 years ago with an LCI motor. I just ordered another one. IDE change the steps to the new ones, but the $1200 price keeps me from doing that. I figured the math, I have another 15 years before it costs me more than the steps. IDE like to think I’ll be in a DP before then!

Great job! A few years ago I too had a step motor go out. For anyone wondering, this is one of the easier DIY things to fix and save a trip to the repair shop($$$). There are youtube videos showing all the easy steps. Just be careful as there are some pivot points/etc that can injure/remove a finger if you aren't careful!
Welcome!
Chris

For someone doing a search and finds this post, here is the part number my buddy just used on his Monaco. I think his is around a 1998 model.

Another option is to open the motor up and look at it. In mine a simple wire had loosened/burned through. Quick soldering job and its working again...
