Surge Suppressor not passing power

My RV came with a Progressive Industries SSP-30XL.

When plugged into my outlet it shows Green (surge protection active) and Blue (correct polarity), but I get 0v (or near 0) out.

There is not a GFCI on the circuit

Not much to those, sounds like it experienced a surge that killed it.
Sorry...

Is it just your outlet or all outlets?

Did you use voltmeter and test the voltage from the outlet?

Got 120VAC /hot to neutral -- hot to ground/ at outlet and surge has NO voltage /hot to neutral -- hot to ground/ then surge guard is bad

No voltage neutral to ground!

The outlet is fine. Voltage meter tests fine and AC works when plugged in.

Just interesting that the suppressor shows all OK but not output. Maybe that's normal after they experience an over-voltage situation ??

Not sure what you mean. There is 0 voltage coming out of the surge suppressor. The outlet the surge protector is plugged into has 120v.

These are sacrificial in that if they get a major surge hit, they are done. It may be repairable by sending it in to Progressive.

Per PI Manual
Note: Green light off indicates a surge occurrence

Also you model doesn't measure Hi or Lo Voltage

Yup. ^^^

A bit more for the curious. Surge suppressors are metal oxide varistor (MOV) devices. Each time they hit their conductance voltage, they conduct the surge to ground. Every time that happens they degrade and the conductance voltage falls a bit.

Any combination of large, medium, and small surges will degrade them over time to the point that they conduct (i.e., fail shorted) at the operating voltage and need to be replaced. Their lifetimes are not predictable because you can't know in advance how many surges of what size they'll eat before they die.

Did you check the voltage at the outlet that the shore cord plugs in to? There was a thread recently where the problem was that the surge protector showed that it was OK (green & blue lights on) but the coach had no power. In the course of folks suggesting things to check someone suggested checking at the transfer switch. The poster said he checked it and it was OK. What he didn’t say was that when he said everything was OK at the transfer switch what he meant was that the shore cord connections were tight-he did NOT check for voltage!
Turned out the problem was a loose connection inside the CAMCORDER shore power plug.

*CAMCORDER*. Should have said *CAMCO*. Whoever invented spell check should go straight to Hello!

And that is why I'm saying your surge guard has just up and failed

Call Tech Services and inquire
