The Death of Good Sam Standard Roadside Assistance

Has anyone else received a letter from Good Sam saying they've discontinued their standard roadside plan? They upgraded me to Platinum for the remainder of my term through April 2018 but when I renew it'll have to be with the more expensive plan. Here's a copy of the letter.Click image for larger version

I dumped them. I now have coach net. They left me stranded on the side of 95 in North Carolina for 4 hours and then wanted to charge me 350$ for a single tire. Nope [emoji1304]. Bye bye Sam.

I just subscribed to the fmca roadside assist. $207 for three years.

Year before last I inadvertently let coachnet expire (they do no automatic recurring billing or reminder - I asked...) - they charged $250 to enroll me again... Which left a bad taste.

Tire cost is not controlled by Good Sam, they only cover getting the truck there, repairs or tire costs are yours to pay.

How the heck did you get Saferide to answer the phone? I've tried for 3 days, even contacted The membership supervisor at FMCA, who got the same results; "leave a message, someone will return your call within 24 hrs". What a way to run a customer service dept.
I did find out the Saferide policy is the same as the discontinued Good Sam basic policy.

BTW, I received that GS letter and new ERS cards.

Hmmm: CoachNet sent me a reminder so I renewed but at a much higher rate too.

I got the letter. Wish I had just been putting a couple hundred buck in a savings account the last few years,

I am really going to miss them. NOT.

Just like others, I was left on the side of the road about 5 years ago. Luckily I was close enough to home that I was able to have a friend come and help me. Moved to Coachnet and haven't been sorry.

Mine cost $1,300 for a single tire and I thought that was fair being midnight thanksgiving night.

Interesting letter as GS is still advertising for customers w/ a new Auto & RV Standard policy Year End Special of $79.95

I've used GS RA a few times in the past and been very satisfied. Haven't used them recently and wonder about the negatives I've read... although I see +/- posted about the top 3 so still wondering. I'm paid thru April - haven't received any letter yet - other than the EARLY reminders to renew.

Have recently joined FMCA so their RA policy is a possibility.

Still reading & interested in others experiences
