Theft of tow bar accessories

We've RVed for years now, but are new to towing a toad.

I've never read anything about theft of tow bar accessories, line safety cables, electrical or break away cables. Just wondering if people experience this as an issue or not. My take is not.

Our tow bar, a Roadmaster All-Terrian is locked to the MH's receiver.

My Roadmaster All-Terrian tow bar is locked to my coach for the main reason of not falling out.
Same with the bar on the front of my toad.

Haven't heard of any thefts of tow bar equipment.

Once the RV is parked I unhook from the tow car and leave everything attached to the MH. Been doing this for 17 years without any theft.

I had someone steal the pins that connect the tow bar to the bumper of our Jeep once. Went to hook up at the end of our stay and they were gone! We were in Tulsa Oklahoma on a Sunday morning and I had to drive to a dozen places before I found suitable replacements. Now I carry an extra set in the basement. We were parked, backed into a space along a fenced area where everyone walked their dogs so it wasn’t unusual to have someone walk behind the row of campers.

No issues in 15 years of towing. I always remove the umbilical and place it in the toad (I have a bag for the umbilical and base plat inserts - Harbor Freight). Your cables would be tuff to steal since they're routed through the tow bar arms on a Roadmaster.

I lock my tow bar to the coach just make sue nothing comes loose.

Be warned also, that some losses are from 4-legged rodents and animals and winged creatures. NOT all due to two legged.

that would be a pretty strong rodent to be able to carry a towbar.

Every hookup on my setup gets locked up when in use and when out of use, including the breakaway lanyard and the power cable.

My tow bar is locked to the receiver, tow bar locked to the toad, but all pins and cables come off. No use to tempt someone.

The tow bar, pins, and cables are too expensive and too critical to leave unsecured. I just lock them up in the toad or a storage compartment. Not much of a hassle since it's only done when we set-up and tear-down camp.

Roadmaster All Terrain. I replaced all of the "Hair pin clips" to the tow pins with padlocks..

If a thief wants it they can get it. Battery power saws all can cut lock pin in less than a minute.
