Theoretical question on breakdown on a site that needs vacating

Hi,

This a theoretical question that got me thinking after a breakdown I had in a State park campground this year.

What if a coach could not be towed, or a mechanic was not avilable until next business day and the site was booked for that day?

The 'next party' would need other accommodations.

I know that some keep a one or two reserved for emergencies such as that, or something goes wrong and one gets double booked, problem with a site such as someone ripped the power post out of the ground, or like when I got to spend a night in the hospital and couldn't vacate on time.

Had that experience when one of the tranny control relays failed on our coach and it wouldn't move. It was a Saturday morning and the best I could do was arrange for a mobile tech to come on Monday a.m. The campground staff was helpful and juggled sites, so everybody had a place to stay. The incoming rig scheduled for my site was part of a pair of buddies who wanted to be side-by-side, but they didn't make a stink about it. I made it a point to apologize to them personally for the inconvenience.

Great idea Gary, I think your personal apology probably went a long way towards making the switch a lot more palatable to the people that had your site reserved!

We had the reverse situation occur at an rv Park in Flagstaff, AZ.

Pulled into the park and the RV in our spot could not get their slide in and was stuck. The manager gave us the best spot in the park that was reserved for VIP guests.

All worked out well for us. By the next day the RV that was stuck was fixed and on their way.

In all you will find a mixture of both scenarios, simply because people are who they are. I would like to think in the overall scheme of things, it works out ok in the majority of these.
