Thor ACE 30.1 Shocks

Good evening, I just purchased from a private party a 2013 Thor ACE 30.1 and discovered it needs front shock absorbers. What do others recommend?

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We’re sure glad you joined the gang here!

Congrats on the new rig! When I had to replace the shocks I researched the Koni and Bilstein brands. I decided on the Bilsteins, partly because they are about half the price of the Konis, and haven't regretted my decision! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Just curious why do you think it needs new shocks? So many people just throw parts and money on MH’s .

If it's something you have to do anyway, don't cheap out. I've not read too many dissatisfied customers that put Koni shocks on. While you're going through this, Sumo Springs are super easy to put on the front of the F-53 chassis and reasonably priced. They take a lot of the porpoise-ing out as well as dampening the harshness of bigger impacts. NOTHING is going to ride like a top-end DP without adding a $20K Liquid Springs setup, but these two smaller pieces will make a big difference.

I use nothing but Koni shocks on my three diesel pushers over the years. However, after reading reports on shocks on here since 2005, it seems the Bilsteins are a better shock for the gassers.
