Tire problem what has caused this?
This occurred during the last 400 miles of my last trip. Both front tires were showing even wear and when I got home noticed the left front tire was worn excessively, right front tire still is very normal. Could it be out of balance or Out of alignment? Or ??? 2016 Coachman Freelander on E350.

Shocks, tire balance and front end alignment cal all cause the problems. Find a good front end alignment shop and have them do a thorough inspection and alignment. Do this innediately after rotating the tires.

Hit anything like a BIG pothole.
Its hard to knock the suspension out on a E350.
Look for missing wheel balance weights, from rubbing a curb. Should see different marks where they were.
Get a tow by someone ? That can bend a tie rod if hooked wrong.

Most likely an alignment issue. Find an independent truck alignment shop. DO NOT use a Ford shop. Make sure the RV is loaded as you normally travel and the tires are properly inflated.

Given the cupping, I'd say the tire is bouncing badly, plus it is turned slightly outward, causing the inner side to wear more than the outer. Out-of-balance is a common cause of tire bounce, but it could also be bad shocks. However, shocks don't usually casue it to wear that fast (400 miles?). I'd bet you hit a pothole or curb abd knocked off a wheel weight and pushed it out of alignment as well.

I would look at the brakes. That tire's sipes all have sharp edges to the back. Something is making that tire drag excessively. Two things possible:
That indicates the brake caliper is dragging on that tire while it's going down the road and slightly skidding the rubber off it.
If the brake caliper isn't running hot, then the right caliper maybe stuck and not operating. So when you stop, the left tire is trying to do all the stopping work that both tires together should be doing, and in the process, slightly skidding the rubber off it.
From it's looks, I'd look at option #2.

If one front brake is dragging shouldn't the driver feel a pull to the dragging side ?

This is called river. Google it and you will find your answer. It is fairly common on motor homes.

Any chance your last 400 miles were made on a two lane road across the plains? A high center crown plus side winds can pull the wheel up and result in uneven wear. Since that is a "left" tire, were you driving "west" across Kansas on a country road?
