Tire recommendations.
Looks like I have some cracks in the rubber so time to replace the tires.
The current tires are Michelin 255/80r22.5. apparently this is a Michilan only size so if I want to go for Toyo or Hankook I need to change to a slightly lower profile with a larger width.
First question is what models of Toyo and Hankook have people tried? And any positive or negative experiences?
Seems like many are happy with the Hankook which implies 275/70r22.5 which I assume would fit and result in the speedometer reading 2.4% low.
I'm mostly torn, been happy with the Michilan tires but even with the FMCA discount it is still going to be north of 3k. Not sure the savings yet since the tire shops are closed for the weekend.
I would welcome all opinions on this topic.
Thanks

I changed to Bridgestone R-250s, 265/75R22,5. This size is very close to the 255 in revolutions per mile and is a little wider. The dual spacing using the 8.25x22.5 wheel is no problem

Do you notice any difference in the ride vs the Michilan? And if you don't mind how much did they cost?
Thanks

I did not notice any difference in ride quality or handling. Price, I do not remember other than they were less than a Michelin. Many others have reported switching to Toyo or Hankook 265/75R22.5 tires with similar experiences.

Plug the numbers for both tires in the following chart and it will show the true differences:

265/75R22.5 is the accepted equivalent to the Michelin 255/80 but the 275/70 is ok too.
This subject has been discussed many times here - see this topic:

Toyos or Hankook. You will thank yourself for the purchase of either brand for your motor home. The sidewalls don’t crack either!

Just purchased TOYOS 265/75R 22.5 to replace the Michelin 255/80R 22.5 and saved almost $150 per tire. Specifications are the same except outside diameter is 39" vs 39.2"

Just today (6/17/20), purchased a set of six AH35 Hankooks 245/70R19.5 for our 2013 Thor ACE 29.2 with some reservation as a few reviews noted a noisy/rough ride after install. My factory originals were Goodyear G670s that were aged out (8 yrs), but otherwise, still looked OK with 40K miles.
Well, I can tell you all that the difference between the G670s and the AH35s was night and day. Difference was immediately noticeable & more so on the highway. Hankooks were SUPER smooth and improved the ride 300%...like a magic carpet. Recent upgrades in shocks and suspension paled in comparison to the tire upgrade for ride comfort. Tires ran steady, quiet, no grooving, and pot hole absorption was superior. Will update the post once I get more miles on them. No, I don't work for Hankook.
Just be aware that installers need to be told what the factory/load PSI is for the coach or they will fill them to just below tire max as if its a long haul trailer. Realize I'm preaching to the choir, but I have to believe that those bad reviews were attributed to bumpy rides with inflation 20-30 PSI higher than factory/load specs.
Total cost for a set of 6 installed/balanced/all taxes - $2083. They gave me their discounted government rate ($241) to honor FMCA (which was listed at $305) since they were not set up to do direct billing for Hankook yet. Compare that to Michelin XZEs via FMCA pricing for $357. If you are in Vegas, go to CMC Tires and tell them you are with FMCA, they'll hook you up. I am very happy!
