Title Issues

My family is trying to settle my brothers estate and we have run into a snag. My brother's wife (title is in her name) owned a 1990 Chevy Allegro. She passed away in 2017 and my brother never did any paperwork to take ownership of the vehicle. He passed away earlier this year.

How do we make quick work of this and send it down the road?

Thanks-Ken

I'm no attorney, just have some experience. Each state is going to have its own set of procedures to do this, so check with the states motor vehicle department.

It will go something like this, a death certificate of the wife will be needed, along with a will to show where the motorhome was to go. If no will, then probate (court and attorney) will approve where the motorhome was to go. If it was the husband, now deceased, then the same procedure will be needed to transfer from him to the proper heir.

May not be a "quick work" procedure.
