To give into temptation or not?

There is a 10 or so year old (based on color scheme) Allegro Bay for sale in front of a small house a few miles from here, It has been for sale for 3 or 4 week now, and I keep driving by it on my way here and there every few days, and keep being temped to stop in and check it out, at least to read the fine print on the for sale sign in the front window. I am not in the market for another class A motorhome,I don't even have everything set up the way I want it on the one I have, I don't want a big class A at this point in my life even, I prefer something smaller that will fit into out of the way places for now, yet I keep seeing it, and I keep getting this urge to stop and check it out.

So should I, or should I keep driving by every few days and hope it is gone so as to remove temptation?

Rereading the excerpts from the quote above, it seems you have already answered your own question.

And the harm in checking it out would be...?

Even if I have a good job and am not looking for a different one, I'm always willing to listen to a job offer.

We had a 31' Class C but started looking for a Class A DP. No harm in looking so we did this for ~3 years. Every chance we got we'd stop an look at coaches for coaches, in driveways, parking lots, dealer lots. On a trip to Florida I saw an Ebay ad for coach not to far from where we were. We went of our way to look and couldn't believe the condition & price. Went home to think about it and decided to buy ~3-4 days later. Made the call and went to the bank the next day to do a wire transfer down payment. Same day got notice at work we were shutting down. No regretts, took the opportunity to go to Alaska.

Never hurts to look, never know what's out there and what good deal you may miss.

Try this. Sit down with paper and pencil and write down reasons why you are tempted. Just curiosity? Some unmet need or lack thereof with your current RV situation? If you decide that it is just curiosity, don't bother the owner and get his hopes up and waste his time. Drive by and note the small print in the window ad - sure. Vot can it hoyt?

Well, the real "harm" is not being able to resist and buying it. I made the mistake of finding the present rig on the Internet and falling for it. Then I made the mistake of driving over 200 miles 5 times to look at it. The REAL mistake was convincing the late DW we should buy it!

But I still like to look at the various floor plans out there!

Well I dropped by to take a look at it around 6 pm today, up close it does not look so good, and it is a bit older than I thought. Appears to be a 1999 Allegro Bay 36 ft with 1 slide behind the drivers seat on a Ford chassis asking is $27,900, seller appears to be selling for health reasons. The asking price appears to be about $10,000 above NADA so that may explain why it has been sitting there for the last month.
