Topper Awning Ant-Billowing Device Broken

There have been many threads on replacing fabric on topper awnings. But I have not seen anything regarding the anti-billowing device.

When extending the slide a few days ago at my home, I heard a bang and did not know what it was. The slide seemed to extend properly and I did not see any issues. Today I noticed a part laying on the ground next to the slide. After looking at the other slides, I realized that the part laying on the ground was a broken piece from the A&E Systems topper anti-billowing device. I could get a replacement, but the part that it fastens to seems to be damaged as well.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Any ideas on how to repair or replace the broken parts?

I attached pictures of the broken parts.

Thanks,

Drill the pop rivets or screws out, move the arm enough for new holes and install a new one.

It must of hit something pretty hard to break and deform the end cap. Check the stop on th sido th motorhome for damage.

The part can be found here Dometic 3312418.000 Anti-Billow Assembly Hardware Part Camper Trailer RV

Norm,

Thanks for the information. I will take a look at the RV again when I get a chance.

Robby and Donna,

It is there so that the roller tube cannot unwind when the slides are in and going down the road. Wind could potentially get in there and unroll the topper awning. When the tube starts to unwind, the device hits the stopper mounted to the side of the RV.
