It will keep the stem/module from bouncing around. I'm guessing there is a rubber stabilizer on your rear wheel where the inner wheel valve comes through the outer wheel spoke holes?

BTW, do not over tighten the module or any valve stem extensions. By doing so it could cause the sealing O ring to deform and cause leaks.
Thanks Bibd9! Upon further inspection it looks like there are already small extension on all of the valve stems. It also seems to me that if I turn the rear tire valve so that it is parallel with the tire I won't need an extension. I can just screw the sensor on.

Your Welcome!

We take our coach out to campgrounds that remain open all winter for snow skiing. I turned the valves on my coach so they were parallel to the wheel. That way if snow gets packed inside those rear wheels the snow won't have as much chance of damaging the valve as if it was turned perpendicular to the wheel.

Also, if you get new tires installed the installer can simply put in straight valve stems in those rear wheels instead of the bent ones like we have.

I do need to clarify something for other owners reading this. On some aluminum wheels the hole where the valve comes through the web of the rim, the hole isn't large enough to simply loosen the nut and turn the valve. On those wheels one needs to let the air out and tilt the valve stem to get it to clear the edges of the hole. Luckily for me, all the ones I have turned, the holes were large enough.
