Transfer switch

I have a 2019 HR Navigator
When I start the generator and the relay in the transfer switch in gauges relay goes to charring
Worked fine two weeks goes
What would cause this , is there an easy fix or does the relay need replaced

Switching under load tends to pit/burns he contactors.

Loose connections in the ATS add to heat and damage.

Response to twinboat's question can make a big difference.
I'd suggest help from a dictionary or internet search which one it is.

I had that once in my ATS. I was considering getting a new transfer switch but due to original installation, I thought it's simpler to try just a new shore side contactor.

Once I got the old contactor out, I found a moth inside that caused the bad contact and rattling noise (status indicator showing 30A although I was hooked to 50A).

Disconnect form all power and shut off the batteries. Then open the Transfer switch box and verify all of the lugs are tight. Inspect the wires for melted casings and black marks. Inspect the relays inside for black marks. If you find any black marks on the relays then replace the transfer switch. Any melted wires from shore power then replace shore power cable. Any burnt marks on generator input wires need replacing also. If you have to replace Transfer or shore power cable then while yo are at it, I would install a surge suppressor.
Next if your issues were happening while you were running heavy loads, AC, fridge, electric water heater, then Don't do that. All loads as such should be shut off until generator has properly warmed up and started supplying AC.
Read the Owners manual for proper operation if you question it.
The Transfer box checks should be performed at the beginning of every camping season.
