I've had one for 14 months - completely trouble-free and plenty of power for my Class C. I just hit the first maintenance interval - 7500 mi - almost nothing required except an oil change every 7500 until you hit 60,000 mi. Spark plugs and a longer list at about 100,000 mi. Parts should be readily available till the end if the century or so.

I'm on my second class A with a Ford V10. Never had any issue with the engine runs good but even better with the 5 Star tune. I have never purchased and ESP on any of my autos or Motorhomes. They are just added profit for the dealer.

I've had 3 of the Triton V10s. IMO they are one of the best engines ever built, especially for their intended purpose.

My V10 powers my 35 ft Gulfstream Independence and it works great. I get between 7-9 MPG depending on mountains and flatland

I had the v10 in a 2000 37 ft winnebago. It had ample power and ran great. It had 62k miles on it when I sold it. I was advised to let the motor cool down before shutting it off. They run high revs and are prone to cracking the exhaust manifold if you shut them off screaming hot. Very good motor in my opinion. Would buy another on in a minute if I was looking for a gas engine rv.

On my third V10 motorhome, been very pleased with all. Have had one each of single valve, 2 valve and now 3 valve version. Do notice more power in the current one (2014 chassis), and like the tow/haul on tranny. ESP is up to individual, I took one as I bought a one year old coach from a dealer so did not know any history. If new doubt I would buy one as you have time to work through kinks under standard warranty. It is insurance, I always hate paying for it but sure happy to have when need it!

All conventional 4 stroke ( cycle ) engines have at least 2 valves. Intake and exhaust. There isn't a 1 valve 4 stroke engine.
The 3 valve Ford V 10 engines added a 2nd intake valve to help pull in more air/fuel mixture on the intake ( down ) stroke of the piston. A larger single valve wouldn't fit in the combustion chamber.
The more air/fuel mix the engine can draw in, the more power it can produce.

Yeah.......... I was wondering how his single valve V10 worked. Maybe it was a reed valve and 2 cycle?

Ford V-10 2001 with 127,000 plus miles and still going loose 1 Qt of oil in 4000 miles but that's when I change oil and filter any way. 7.5 to 8 mpg always pulling a 4200 lbs toad

Thanks for the correction, you can tell I am not an engine guy, learned something new! Was thinking that was the main difference as they updated the engine.

You know, there are times where it sure revs like one! Coming from diesel pickups hauling a fiver, that was the hardest thing to get used to. Now when I am hauling one of our other trailers behind the pickups I feel like I am lugging them at 65 mph and 2K RPM.
