Trouble with my Dometic Duotherm AC

My AC runs very well while underway off our generator till I hit a bump. Then the AC unit may shudder to a stop for about 30 seconds and then it starts running again. It may also do this while turning a street corner. In all other cases it works fine. At first I thought maybe it was a loose motor bracket but now I suspect the wall thermostat. Has anybody else run into this situation?

Communication between the thermostat and AC units is via a communication cable similar to a phone cable (except wire is reversed).
You might try disconnecting at the thermostat and AC units. Sometimes the connection gets corroded, disconnecting and reconnecting cleans up the connections.

I’ve been on the road all day and the problem happened 3 times. I’ve come to the conclusion that the problem is with the generator stopping. After reading some other threads I think it’s a low oil level problem. I’ll top it off before heading out tomorrow and see if that cures the issue.

I doubt that it's the generator stopping. You can just glance at the generator start/stop switch to see if the light is on when the A/C quits. I suspect it's just a loose connection somewhere that's jarring and losing connection. It could very well be the communications wire that Jim mentioned!

X2 on it not being the generator. If the generator stopped, it's gonna stay stopped until you restart it. My genny does not have a light on the dash switch. Only on the genny itself. It could not only be a thermostat issue, it could be a bad ground or other 120v issue.

You all may be right. Yesterday's drive home was inconclusive. I brought the oil level up to about mid-dipstick before starting out. It only happened once in 250 miles and that was during a slow turn. But I forgot to mention that about 1 out of three times it's happened, the gen had quit and I had to restart. Thanks everyone for your input.

Incidently, I had kept the oil level pretty low in the gen because I had a "gen stopping problem", even while parked, awhile ago and was following some youtuber's advice about the oil level being too high. I fixed that problem by replacing a bad fuel pump. I think the oil-level-too-high idea was bogus to begin with.
