As long as you have water in the toilet, no problem with the fan and odors. If for some reason the water goes away the fan will exacerbate the odor problem. This is my experience, unfortunately...

No odor out of our tank with the fan running. I suppose without proper treatment of the tank you will develop some odor. We use RV Digest-It made by Unique and haven't had any problems.

Well mine does not do that , but I guess if you stood there with toilet valve open marveling at what you had just accomplished for a long period of time thn I bet the answer would be different!

I can tell you in our coach you don't want to flush while opening the cabinet to the left - or stuff falls in the toilet - no, not done it "yet" but DW and I noticed the potential for sure.

Boney butt people don't provide the perfect seal required to keep the smell in the tank.

Its a right of passage that we all go through. Usually its the last roll in the cabinet and the bowl is full of H2O or something.

I don't get an odor when I flush with the vent fan on. But , to be honest, I did, after about 4 or 5 days of use, I would get an odor every time I flushed, vent fan on or off.
I installed this, Have not had any odor, under any conditions. Worth the money.

"If you have your bathroom window open, or your door ajar you won't get an odor from the black tank or it will be minimal."
For you professionals on this thread.........what is "minimal" black tank odor???

I'm no professional, but if the odor makes your eyes tear up but the wall paper is unaffected...that could be considered 'minimal'.
