used DP purchase
I have always had gas burners but I am thinking of going to a DP.
I like the 32' Tiffin Breeze because of the size.
I have found a 2011 with only 31k miles on it. I know the tires and batteries will need to be replaced. With this low mileage and the age of the unit, I worry about old fuel possibly clogging lines and filters. Anyone having any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Well, you are gonna change the fuel & air filters too, right? And the oil and the coolant too? Give that senior gal a fresh start and she will almost surely treat you well.
At around 3000 miles/year, the rig has been pushing 350-400 gallons of fuel thru annually. None of the fuel has been sitting there for 12 years. About the only concern might be some water condensation in the fuel tank, but the water separator filter is designed to deal with that. No worries.

Algae may be an issue if the coach has been sitting for the last couple years?

Take a look at a used RED 33AA, bigger engine, bigger transmission, more head space, better ride...

Our first rv was a 40' DP bought used with no service records. Run an algecide through the fuel tank and system a couple times. Plan on plugging a fuel filter or two if it's been sitting a long while.
Change all fluids and filters, coolant flush and maybe change to extended life coolant. Same with generator, all fluids and filters. Get a good safe starting point with all of these items and then run it.
I own many diesel engines and prefer them to any gas motor unless in a sports car LOL. I love how they drive and ride. Remember everyone will have their opinion for and against. Diesel engines in my opinion, which is subject to scrutiny of course, are more reliable. They do cost more in service items but they also tend to go further on these services milage wise.
Let's see what this brings....

Everything about a smaller DP is.... SMALLER. And you will hate it with one exception: You can get into CA State Parks where 32Ft+ are not permitted.
That said, if you don't go to CA State Parks who wants a 32Ft RV? IMO, it's better to buy an older 40' RV and you will never need to trade-up.
"Bigger is better." ... but 42' is too big and has other factors I won't go into here.

The 2011 sales brochure on Tiffin's website only shows the 28BR floor plan, but I don't know if there was a 32' or not.
Also from their brochure:
QUOTE>Smaller, yes, but every inch a Tiffin. Rest assured, we didn’t cut any corners. The Breeze shares the same exceptional engineering as our larger models, including the exclusive PowerGlide® chassis. Custom designed and built at the Tiffin plant in Red Bay, there’s not another chassis like it on the planet. This smaller 28-foot chassis has everything a big chassis has – air ride, air brakes, and air leveling. The very features that deliver a smooth ride. You’ll enjoy the benefits of our PowerGlide chassis every time you’re behind the wheel. Plus, since it is made to our exact specifications, count on reliability and supreme craftsmanship from the bottom up. Equipped with a MaxxForce 7® rear engine diesel, the Breeze also delivers more mileage per gallon on the road and an added boost of torque (560 @ 1,400 ) and horsepower (215 HP @ 2,600 rpm). END QUOTE<
I'm not bashing anything about the Breeze, but you may want to visit the MaxForce engine forum here on iRV2.com, as well as the Tiffin Owners forum on iRV2.

DP Purchase
Thank you all for your input. It is very helpful as I have not had a diesel before.
As to the 40'r, my last MH was 33' class A and it was fine for us. We only take 1-2 week long trips and we can put up with the small quarters without killing each other for that long. Tiffin does make a 32BR which is 33''9" long. Also my garage would only handle up to 35' long and 12' high.
Thanks again.

I'm going to have to say hold off on fuel filters "provided it running well under load", until after using Biobor and or Startron Enzyme to kill biomass...

I have a had a 32’ Tiffin Breeze for 4yrs now. We are a family of 4 with a large cat and medium sized dog. We tow a 4 door jeep everywhere we go.
I love everything about the Breeze. The size, finish work, options, etc. With my kids becoming teenagers we are getting tight on space. I will be selling my breeze in a year or 2 for something with a bunkhouse set up.
The Breeze is the easiest coach to drive and maintain (exterior) on your own. Sometimes I take the breeze to the market or the kids to sports. I can fit it anywhere yet it’s a big 32’. It’s really fun to drive and doesn’t suffer from the handling issues of the 28’. With the opposing living room slides you get as much room as a Red 33. What you don’t get is the uneeded added height that the Red has.

If you know the maintaince. Continue on the maintaince schedule. If you don't know it act as if nothen has been done.
Old fuel, I would add a brocade and run the tank low before changing fuel filters and adding fuel. Ger an extra set of fuel filters to carry on trips
