Velvac mirrors and shipping

Sometimes its just the principle of things. My Velvac mirrors have wiggled and jiggled inside the housing for years. I have done temporary fixes with small elastic cords and finally decided to find if there was a fix.

Velvac sells small spring steel dampeners for the mirrors so they are aware of the problem. I haven't installed them yet which may be a challenge since flat mirror must be unstuck from mounting. Any way each mirror requires 4 dampeners. I ordered and received 8. These are little flat springs about 2 inches long and bent.

$18.40 for 8 springs. Sticker shock There is more metal in a beer can. OK I ordered them. I ask about shipping cost. Young lady said she didn't know until they were shipped. (If I could have gotten them some where else I would not have ordered) but she said it couldn't be much since they were small. When received found the shipping/handling was $17.11. $35.51 total.
For that much $$ I hope they work.

I checked UPS was $10.50 of this. USPS would have shipped them for $7.00 in a priority box.

I feel like I was dealing with a cheap back door Ebay supplier. But even with Ebay you know before hand you are being taken advantage of with shipping.

The small clips are on top the box, the numbers are the size of box.

They must have one size box, used for everything.......... That box is ridiculous.

I've dealt with the same type of issue with different suppliers. When you only have 1 choice as to where to buy something you don't have many options.

I always try to get the shipping price, when making a selection on Ebay, Amazon, etc you can see the all in price prior to making a decision.

Every once in a while you get lucky. I ordered a fuel transfer pump gasket from Capital Volvo in Alabama. The gasket cost ~$7 and when I asked about shipping the sales person didn't know but he took the time to just put it in an envelop and mail to me, charging only $1. Can't beat that.

I think Ebay stopped selling items for .01 and shipping was 14.95
Price is $ for item.
Cost is price and shipping. This is the real amount.
