Voyager VOM-784CT Monitor unit

Well we just returned from a short but expensive trip to the Texas Hill Country. As I backed out I noticed the the rear / side vision camera system was acting up. The monitor only shows a light gray scale image. Sort of like the TV reception we got on the farm back in the 60's. This way on all 3 cameras so I guess it's the monitor. Voyager no longer makes this monitor - it's an old CRT box. The remedy is a flat screen and some adapter cables unless someone out there has a surplus monitor unit they would like to part with.

If you do let me know and perhaps we can work out a deal good for both of us.

In other news, the rear AC quit after the Intellitec Smart EMS fried itself and smoked the coach with that wonderful aroma of burnt insulation. The fridge would not work on gas until I cleaned out the orifice again, then the ice maker quit. What next?? Well I'm rolling on a Workhorse W-22 so the brakes went soft on the return leg. But that is the dealerships to deal with.

Anyone who tells folks that RV travel is for softies hs not yet had the "whole" experience!

I had a brief period last weekend when I go no image from my backup camera on my CRT Voyager monitor. I finally tapped (well a littler harder than that) the monitor and the picture returned. I am hoping it is a cable connector at the back of the monitor. My monitor is also discontinued. I believe that the only new ones are LCD and a different size meaning dash modifications. If I have to replace my monitor I would try to find a color monitor that would display B/W and then if the camera failed I would buy a color camera.

Ebay Baby!

I found my entire rear view system on ebay. You can find most anything you could think of on ebay, I have an 02 brave, and was looking for somthing to fit in the dash cutout. coach was prewired for sony system, found a voyager crt monitor, and camera, and adapters for the voyager to sony cable. I'll say it again, go to ebay and search.

Lamar,
Go to the following link to a post on IRV2 and read thru the ENTIRE thread. I believe you will find a source there that can help.

Voyager Monitor - FOUND!

I found a replacement on EBAY. Once it arrives I may be looking for advice on swapping them out. Looks like the dash panel will have to be removed.

Thanks to everyone for your help!

When I had a problem with a camera system in any rig in the fleet I would call and chat with Tim at "RV Cams". If he doesn't have the answer, your in deep stuff........................

Many times when I thought it was going to require replacement, Tim would test everything and find it was just a inexpensive part I needed instead. Of course it helped time wise that he is local to me. But he will bench test the monitor or cameras for ya at no charge. That way ya only buy what you need instead of a complete system. But when the system WAS "Ka-put"" he had a direct replacement in stock.

Heck, even though I'm not in the RV business anymore and don't have anything with a rear view system I still stop by and visit with him from time to time.

He sounds like a good guy. When I get my replacement in I may send him the old one to be checked out. Can't hurt to have a spare!

Thanks
