Water pump comes on but no water comes out
Fresh water tank is completely full and water pump comes on, but no water comes out of faucets. Connecting to city water works fine. Have tripled checked the switches to make sure that I am in the correct setting for road use (normal) and I am.
Water pump just runs and runs - does not shut off after a few seconds like normal. Not sure where to look next.

Are you level, and is your tank full enough? Disconnect the lines to the pump to ensure there is no cloggs? Check the screen filter?

If the pump will not pressurize, open a faucet to facilitate priming.
If that doesn't do it, check for air/bubbles on the inlet side of the pump.

What pump? I had the inlet strainer clog on my Flow-Jet. Easy to clean. Many YouTube videos on the subject.

Check your water control panel in wet bay. Are all the valves set properly? Maybe pump is running a loop back to the tank.

UPDATE: working again
well - this is the first time in years of owning this RV that I've ever seen something like this. I think we just had a lot of air in the line.
We were heading to the RV Service center for a recall after a camping trip. I told the tech to add "water pump not working" to the list - he asked me what it was doing and I said "see here as I turn on the pump and then the faucet and no water comes out... the water immediately came to life and worked like a champ..."
So - I think what happened is this. When we setup camp I'm on the outside and my wife is on the inside. She complained that the water was not working - I told her that I was switching it over from normal road mode to campground water. I think she had the pump on while I was doing all the switching around and somehow that caused it to empty out some of the plumbing? maybe the hoses that go down to the fresh water tank? Not sure. I finished switching us over to campground water hookups and everything was working fine so I didn't think anything else of it.
The fresh tank was showing FULL when we went to depart. I thought this was odd since we left the house with 3/4 tank of fresh water, but those LED gauges are always flaky. When I switched to normal rode mode and turned on the pump I got no water from the faucets and didn't want to leave the pump running too long because I heard you can burn up your pump if you run it without water.
So - not sure if it was just air in the line or the drive home shaking everything around, but wanted to let everyone know that it's working again. Thanks for all your troubleshooting tips.

IF YOU HAVE A DRAIN STILL OPEN, IT WILL NEVER BUILD PRESSURE. Algae Clogged pump inlet screen? Faucet tip screens clogged? Loose fitting between pump/ tank = sucking air? Valve installed/ closed between pump/ tank?
Algae/ sand/ dirt in check valve internal to pump? THIS is the one I suspect after reading your 2nd post. This OPEN CHECKVALVE also allows CITY WATER TO BACKFLOW and fill/ overflow the FRESH WATER tank, and prevents building proper pressure and shutting off properly. IF pump in fair condition and you can locate a REPAIR KIT at reasonable price (less than 50% of new) then DIY rebuild maybe advisable; otherwise= new pump in near future?

Wolfe10 told it right. The water pump cannot pressurize air, a faucet must be open to allow the pump to prime with water, then push the air from the plumbing.
