Water seperator/fuel filter for gas motor home

I have been chasing an intermittent loss of power and miss in my 1990 Airstream LY, equipped with the Chevrolet 7.4L TBI engine.

I have narrowed the problem down to the poor quality ethanol/gas being sold nowadays as a result of federal stupidity (but that is another subject for another soapbox -- please don't get me started!).

When I bought the MH in 2006, real gas was readily available, and I was satisfied with the MHs performance.

Now I am not!

Here is my question, aside from using Stabil Blue, will a fuel filter/water separator help me regain some measure of performance?

I know that diesel engines all have water separator/fuel filters -- anybody out there have one installed on their gas rig?

If so, did it work?

What brand?

Thanks in advance.

An intermitant power loss can be caused by many things, a fuel filter, a bad spark plug wire, a malfunctioning fuel injector, an idle control valve, ect. ect. My point is don't waste your money on a water seperator for your gas engine. Go to a automotive repair facility that you trust and have them run a diagnostic scan anywhere from 60 to 100 dollars, you could realistically spend three times that much chasing this problem and never fix it. I owned Napa autocare centers...(retired, thank God)

Thank you. I have already done all that you suggest, to no avail.

The good news is that it runs very well most of the time. I do not drive the MH very often, which is what lead me to the bad gas/water in gas scenario.

Will try STABIL-BLU, a new fuel filter and FResh gas before I do anything else.

Thanks, again.
