Welder near Yellowstone

In Yellowstone until Thursday. Broke a rear swaybar bracket (both ears broke off). Have tried ordering, but nobody can get me one in time. Figured welding it would get me home. Anybody know of a welder in the area?

OEM part - 1C3Z-5486-AA

The other one broke last year and I fabricated a new one twice the thickness….knew I should have done both 🤪

I'd recommend asking someone in the town you're visiting. Perhaps ask an auto repair/mechanic or a contractor. Look in a phone book.

If you are in/near West Yellowstone check with the hardware/builders center behind Grizzly RV Resort. 3 years ago on July 3 they had a gentleman in town that was a welder. He was on my site within an hour and took care of a broken fender support on my tow dolly that I had at the time. Excellent welder and very fair price. His name was Vince. He did full time in a 5th wheel so he may not still be in town.

Have you tried auto parts store for aftermarket kit ones to match . They all can't be that different. The one I looked at have slotted holes probably to match few different vehicles and available Advanced near me.

Check the hardware store, plumbing shop or electrical shop for possible temporary solutions. I've installed some fairly stout 2-hole ridged conduit straps which might be adaptable. Bar stock from the hardware store could be bent and drilled as a temp replacement. Just a couple suggestions worth that $.02.
Safe travels.

Howdy!

I found a welder in Cody to weld on a new spring hanger bracket. He did a good job and got us in and out quickly. Sorry I can’t recall the name I just googled and found him.

Where in Yellowstone? North and you’ll look in Montana. South and you’ll look in Jackson. East and you’ll look in Cody and West you’ll look in Idaho. So where you are makes all the difference.

Got a Ford bracket from dealer in Jackson. Paid 2x for it, but at least got it. It got me home. Now need to fab my own so it don’t break again, Ford bracket is too weak to handle job.

Any auto repair shop should be able to do it.
