What is causing the musty smell?

Greetings..
We purchased a 2014 Newmar 3308 and when we picked it up, notice the unit has a musty smell. I have given it a complete cleaning and we had roof vents installed. It is now in storage, with vents slightly open and we've put a product for dampness absorption through out (marine product) but it still smells musty inside. Went to check on it this weekend and it still has a musty smell. If anyone has a tip on how to remedy this, I would appreciate it. Thank you!

What is causing the musty smell?

I hate to even suggest this, but water leaks seem to be a common cause. Is it in covered storage, or exposed to precipitation?

I had a musty smell for a long time. Finally discovered the furnace vent to the wet bay where sewer hoses were stored. Stinky hose smell came into house thru that vent into bedroom floor vent. Moved hoses to propane tank area, problem solved.

Use a dehumidifier: Close all windows, vents etc. let it run for a few days.

Are you located in a humid area? In our coastal environment, I have to run a dehumidifier in my motorhome to prevent the musty smell (and I do not have any leaks).

Just long shot here but do you have a front load washer. They can get a musty smell from the rubber seal not getting wiped dry.

good luck

Clean the ac coils, we have a basement air and we had to use the special foam cleaner to eliminate that musty smell and it worked quickly.
