I'd put in what ever Ford recommends, should be in your manuals.

If you live in the south and typically run in hot weather, I use dead dinosaur 5w30

In the northern part or cooler time of year, good ole dead dinosaur 5w20

Change every 5k miles and your good.

I run 5w30 in everything I own, makes buying easier. Put in 6 qts, if its not up to full on the dip stick, add one more quart.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

I have 16 Bounder with same engine. Ford calls for 5W-30 most applications, but this is newer engine. I would try calling Ford see what they recommend for 99 eng. also I use full synthetic (Amsoil) and only change once a year, driving less than 10K a year.

Great reference from spyderRV below. Save that to your computer. I use 5w30 in my 16 Bounder with V10, full synthetic (Amsoil) 7 qts & only change once a year. Driving under 10k a year for now.

I'm thinking of switching to M1 syn 15W50 in all my engines. Already switched the generator and Kawasaki Concours.

15w50 could harm your v-10 triton. The number one problem the v-10 has is the overhead valve train wear caused by too heavy of an oil. Takes a little longer for oil to reach those parts during inital starts and after time it takes its toll. 5w20 or 5w30 only.

Better do some more research before using that 15/50. 5/30 or 10/30 is a much better choise. I only used 10/30 M1 in a race engine turning 7500 rpm, and that engine was wearing the same bearings 7 years later. That engine had over 500 passes and the bearings looked like new. I took it down every year for inspection, but never replaced the bearings in it. I'm going to switch my MH over to M1 on the next change, but will be using 10/30.

My current Motorhome has the Ford 460 motor which is actually bigger than a trinton V 10. I use standard 10 w 30 weight motor oil. It runs beautifully.
