When picking RV insurance, things you should know...

[Mod Edit]
So let me try again, as I am looking to change insurance for towing. I have had always had AAA rv premium plus.

I was just alerted to a new policy change:

Their new policy pays a MAXIMUM of $500 for any rv tow. Previously, it was simply a mileage restriction (100 miles, 500, etc).

For folks that may have AAA, were you aware of the NEW limitation?

Do the other insurance options have the same limitation?

Good Sams? Others?

$500 in coverage for a class A is pretty "not useful."

How were you alerted? Just checked the AAA website and it hasn't changed.

I just made a claim. My claim was only $350, so below the limit.

They advised me that the info is in all the new info packets, and dates back to 11/20. Note ive been a member for over 5 years, and my last tow for a car was 4 years ago and way over $500... no issues then.

I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she stated the same.

I asked how a $300 a year family policy makes sense, if the payout is only $500. She said its their "new policy" for RV tows...

AAA is broken down into territories, which may have resulting in some changes to specific locations.

I just checked my AAA account, which while logging in I had to put in my zip code, and it does not list any type of limitation on towing cost but does list a distance.

There is an cost limit listed on travel interruption, so I would have thought if there was an updated limitation for towing it would have been listed.

You may wish to call and verify...

Would seem odd that one region has such a dramatic limitation, and another would not...

For our region, it was buried in the fine print, not on the main web page either.
