Twomed,
Good post! I wasn't aware of tire movement on the rims was that much. Maybe that's why Michelin doesn't recommend balancing on that size tire. Something to think about next time I need to have tires.

Hi Twomed,
I did not know tires moved on the rim once they are mounted. Thanks for the info. The bottom line is I have worn out only one set of tires on the tread. All the others were replaced after 10 years of service (yea, I was ahead of Michelin on this point). All tires had at least 90K mile when replaced. No tires showed any abnormal wear of any kind. The tires always road very smooth at all speeds. I guess my experience is different. It tells us something, but I am not sure what. Being an old guy stuck in his ways, I'll keep doing the same thing until it no longer works. Then I'll see what my choices are.
