Depends on if your windshield is held in by a seal or glue. Makes a big difference where you go.

Automotive glass shops do both styles, so I don't see how it matters, I have had a lot of glass work needed and never went anywhere but a glass shop.

Not true. I had a replacement last year. Ins. co suggested Safelite. Weeks go by until Safelite called that they no longer do RVs. Something they could have told me right away.
So went to RV Glass Solutions in Elkhart, IN. They know RV glass. They have electrical hookups if you need to go there a day earlier and again the night after while the windshield cures.

No way I would pay the premium for a "RV" glass shop. Guy i use does my simis, motorhome, cars and trucks. I mean Safelite is a joke, but most all locally owned glass shops have this under control. To me its like taking your motorhome to a RV dealership/shop to have an alternator replaced or the oil changed, doesn't make any sense to me unless the RV glass shop was near by and more affordable.

We live in Florida which has a windshield replacement law so I just contacted our insurance company (Progressive) and they pointed me to a company that they use. The new windshield was installed onsite where our RV is stored. We also have a Vista.

That is BS. If that is the case, I'd find the most expensive shop I could and then turn in the claim. Bet they come up with another shop

Well 5 days later I think the wheels are turning. I found a glass shop in town that told me they do rvs a lot so I called my ins Co and they called them, then nothing, what the ins didnt know was they need to call RV solution then RV solution calls glass shop then I have to call RV solution to confirm. What? So I'd had enough so I drive to glass shop I have the lady there call RV solution while im standing there they had my info, its like you have to wake some people up ! So I go home take a picture of the info on glass and email it the glass shop so they'll order correct glass, they are booked out 10 days anyway. Now the waiting game... Really?? I was so close to paying for it myself and turned in bill...
