Any 'testing' that showed that the interior RVQucikShades provided 'better results' than exterior shades of similar density was flawed either in its proceedure or the intrepetation of the results. Measurement of air temp 18" from the shade, DOES NOT measure the change in heat conducted through the windshield. The shields are used to lower the heat load from solar. Outside shades are far more effective at this. The only way to measure the difference is to have two identical motorhomes, with only the shades as different and NO AC or VENTILATION in use. Then measure the rate of temperature rise in the interior space of the MH over time. The larger heat load will raise the temp faster.
Again, any heat blocked by interior shades IS ALREADY INSIDE the motorhome and must be removed by the AC system. Heat blocked by outside shades is never allowed entry to the motorhome so does not need to be removed by the ac system.
This is why ALL solar shades for B&M buildings are applied outside the glass, either as shutters or screens. Blinds and interior shades are no where near as effective.
