I'm trying to figure out how to put a vertical antenna plus an automatic antenna tuner clamped to the ladder of our MH. The MH is a 35' 2005 National Dolphin and I have an Icom 706mkiig and the remote antenna tuner. I used to have the ring in my pickup truck and now that its gone I figured I might put the rig into the MH.
I DO NOT PLAN TO OPERATE IT WHILE IN MOTION.
I'm thinking about one of the MFJ 'Big Stick' verticals mounted on the top of the ladder and that leads to my first question: How can I connect to the steel tube frame in the roof. The brochure claimed that the roof was built with "arched tubular steel roof trusses" and that sounds like a good candidate for a counterpoise. But how do I make an electrical connection to that truss system?
I'd appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

I plan to build a contraption to fit over the top of the ladder. I will be both the base for the antenna and hold the Icon AH-4 auto tuner. The idea is to set it up when I want to operate the rig and take it down and stow it when we move.
When I do it I'll send pictures.
