To go off on a tangent, and excuse my ignorance (I drive a gasser), what’s the advantage of the side radiator over the rear facing?

My DW wants a mid-door. She says the view out the front and to the right with a front door is not near as good as with mid-door.

Mid entry door
We own a 40 foot diesel pusher with a mid entry door and like it far better than the front entry. It is especially nice when loading or unloading after trips since you are mostly in the kitchen and bedroom area and not having to walk through the entire front living room to load and unload.

Newell
Newell has made a mid-entry for years. Although it represents a small number going out the door, it is popular for those who don't like the wind noise from the front door.
Yes, Newell is pricey...used coaches with mid-entry and the galley on the driver side are the way to go.

It is much easier to work on the engine when that radiator is not blocking it. Many repairs you can do on a side radiator engine require pulling it out when on the rear.

Our friends and us had our units serviced for the annual oil filter etc change out. My side rad unit is identically Cummings 350 powered and the work was about $300 less because of the side rad on ours.

Would prefer a mid entry, but not a game changer. Current coach is front entry.

We have a front entry & bring bikes inside because we do not have a bike carrier. Even though it’s doable, a mid entry would be much easier for this task. We have friends that camp & fish for 2 months in order to resupply their fish for a year. They’re able to pull a 3 ft chest freezer into their mid entry coach that they place outside while camped. I believe there may be more advantages than disadvantages for the mid entry.

Not true. On ours, the both driver and passenger seats, swivel and you can slide the passenger seat back to the dash. Coming in from mid-ships means you are under awning, can bring things into the kitchen easily, etc. No tracking dirt through living area, much quicker to the bathroom from the patio!
This was one of my must haves we we bought our coach in 2005 and the lack of mid-doors is one of the reasons we have kept her going all of these years.

Much easier for service (or so our service guy says) and radiator stays cleaner.

My wife picked a 2005 HR DP 400 hp. It is a center entry and we like it real well. I tow a 2014 Kia on a tow dolly and I have no problem towing I can make any grade at 60 or better.
