Wondering if this vehicle is a good toad? It is an '04 but, I have very few miles on it.

It is towable per Motorhome Mag. Dinghy guide.

Hoping for some experience.

Sorry, no first hand experience towing it but I'll bet it handles well.

I have an 03 Z71 that I would love to use as a toad but it exceeds the weight for a Class III hitch.

Good like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Having said that we tow a Suburban as a FROG when we want to haul lots of people and/or stuff when we arrive at our destination. Same thing as the Avalanche but hold more people. Get the manual out and check the towing procedure. Not all GM 4 WD are towable. It scales in @ 5700 lbs so we are just under our limit of 6000 lbs. IMHO and based on my milage logs it will csot you 1/2 to 3/4 MPG to tow.

Also check you hitch attaching bolts and nuts very often. I did not not and this is what I got.
hitch issue

or

hitch1 problems

My hitch peoblems was on a 02 DSDP and Newmar would not even give me the time of the day. I am filing a complaint with NHSTA of what ever their name is.

In any case I suggest you should have a FROG breaking system. We use a Brake Buddy with the dead man break away and the alert system. It works so I have never tried any ofther ssystem

Good Luck
