My answer would be none of the above! Not that I don't like the Roadmaster tow bars, but you might want to check out:
Tow Bar For Sale | Vehicle Tow Bar | Tow Bar For Car - Demco Tow Bars
10,500 lb capacity, all steel, their base plates install easily, aren't extremely obvious on the toad front end and function well.
We have the Excali-bar, the earlier version to the II, do regular maintenance, hook and go!

Both are good tow bars.
How much can you tow? If 10K go with that one if less go with the Sterling.
We tow a 2011 Edge with a Sterling and have no issues.

Here is what I got back from RoadMaster as to the uprating of the Sterling:
Quote:
Our safety cables have been upgraded to hold 8,000 lbs. The Sterling tow bar was always able to handle 8,000 lbs; however the safety cables where not; hence the lower rating.
Now that our cables are capable of 8,000 lbs, we are now rating the bar at 8,000 lbs.
I apologize if this caused any confusions.
Thank You,

Wish they had an upgrade path from our old Sterling to the All-Terrain though but truthfully I've only had trouble a couple of times so it's not a big theing I guess.

Mr D
Thanks for the info
The way I'm going is to get the RoadMaster Blackhawk 2 10,000 and get the EZ Hook Safety Cable Anchor Plates & EZ Hook 64" Safety Cable (cable only) 8,000 lb. GVWR rated, that way the cables are away from the car and they are EZ hook up.
etrailer only has the 6000 lb cables
