2000 Honda Accord factory fogs lights won't fit with a Blue Ox base plate

I thoroughly researched installing a base plate on my 2000 Honda 4 door Accord and wanted to know if my optional factory fog lights would fit after installation. I called a couple of manufactures I was interested in, but no one could give me a straight answer. What I found out today is, no they will not fit as designed.

Since the fog lights are a very useful option (and costly) I decided to try and modify them to fit... so here's my story.
I decided on a Blue Ox base plate, because they seem to be the least intrusive. The install was fairly simple, just follow directions. I removed front bumper fascia, drilled eight 13/16th" holes, the base plate fit perfectly. They also provide a few special hard wired nuts for some inaccessible area's inside the frame. The problem with the fog lights was not found until reinstallation of the front bumper. The factory fog lights are installed inside the fascia. When reinstalling it, the bumper cover was about 2 inches away from fitting properly.
OK, no problem, just remove the fog lights and the bumper cover fits fine. I now only have one concern, I don't want to loose such a handy feature.
After some minor trimming, I reinstalled the front bumper cover. Then I held up the fog lights to the car, but it didn't look like there was a way to properly mount them. I then removed the old brackets from the inside of the fascia to fabricate a solution to my problem. The following photos describe how I did it.
I hope this helps someone in the future that has the same concern as me.
Now the only thing I have to worry about is a rock hitting the fog light and breaking the glass lens.
