2007 Fleetwood Southwind 32V and a Toad

I have been looking into towing our 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is towable 4 down, but the question is: According to Blue Ox the baseplate will sit at 17 inches above ground. My RV receiver is at 32 inches. Wow, the only thing that I can see is that I have to use a 10-12 inch drop hitch. People talk about all the torque and pressures exerted on the drop hitch. What ideas would anyone have differently?

Welcome to the forum. My Bounder' hitch was 22". The baseplate on my HHR was much lower and required a 10" drop down receiver to be level. It towed fine and only presented an issue on some steep driveways .
I learned to avoid them and never got stuck.

I had a 08 32v, yes a tall reciever 32" high I worried about this also . I tow a Honda Accord which I think would be lower. A 6 inch drop made it level. I just measured my roadmaster and the height of hole is 17 " but by the time the brackets are on it is quite a bit higher.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Just be sure to buy a good quality drop hitch, NOT something like Harbor Freight! Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Check out Demco tow bars. They are adjustable. You might be able to use a shorter drop hitch.

I have the 2001 Southwind 32V with the same issue towing a 2011 Buick Lacrosse. Bought a 10" dropdown from local RV dealer and it has worked fine for lots of miles including quick stops
