2008 Honda Element EX

I'll be towing (Blue Ox) my 3500 pound 2008 Element behind my 36 foot 2005 Gulf Stream Independence.

Has anyone here had any experience towing an Element? Is there anything particular to Elements that I will notice or should watch for when towing?

Not towable four down according to Honda, but since you're past the warranty time it really doesn't matter as all damage is on your dime. If you have a service policy on the Element they can use that info to deny claims also since you weren't following factory policy/requirements.

I towed my 2008 Honda Element for over 10,000 miles without one problem. But it was recomended to me to me to pull up to the tow bar run thru its gears RND21,then let it idle for 3 min then put it in neautral away we go. Fmca 3887D

We have towed our 05 Element for over 10,000 miles. One problem was having a dead battery when we arrived. So, we ran a hot wire from the MH to the element. That fixed that problem. We also wired in a seperate tail lights instead of trying to wire thru the honda maze of wiring. Be sure to shut off everything in the Element. The cruise control thingy on left below the steering column to. On 1 or 2 model yrs Honda said it was OK to tow. Then they said NO, that was a misprint. That year book said when towing. Idle and shift r,N, D,2, 1 and back to netural, let idle for 3 minutes. Do not tow over 65MPH. We towed a jeep wrangler b-4 and like the element much better. Good luck. good towing!

Great news. Thank you. I know I'm almost out of warranty. I also know this car is built on the CR-V chassis, which IS towable 4-down. I suppose Honda just didn't want to cover it; okay by me. It'll work anyway. The shifting routine Honda requires after every 8 hours or so is typical for all Hondas - no big deal. I do know not to put it in N from R, so I guess I'm covered.
